  1. Install BimIndex Download the installer, run it for your Revit version (2023–2026), and start Revit. On first run, BimIndex walks you through the privacy policy and terms of use.
  2. Copy your activation code If no license is found, a No license dialog appears with a read-only activation code and a Copy button. This code is a fingerprint of your computer, Windows account and Revit version - it doesn't contain any personal information.
  3. Send your trial request Click Request free trial period in the dialog - this opens a pre-filled email in your default mail program. If it doesn't open automatically, use the button below to send the request manually.
  4. Activate your license You'll receive a license.bimindex file by reply. Drag it onto the drop zone in the No license dialog. On success, it shows ✓ License valid until YYYY-MM-DD and you're ready to start.
